Solihull South Asian Music Youth Ensemble

In partnership with Solihull Music, we have launched a brand-new South Asian music ensemble in Solihull which will rehearse weekly and work towards exciting performance opportunities! Lead by professional musician and teacher, Gulfam Sabri, this new ensemble will learn music from South Asian folk and classical as well as brand new works.

Where: The Core Theatre, Homer Road, Solihull, B91 3RG
When: Wednesdays 6.20-7.50pm.
Who: Suitable for pupils aged 10- 18 who have been learning a South Asian instrument or vocals for at least a year  

University of Birmingham South Asian Ensemble

In collaboration with University of Birmingham’s University Music, the South Asian ensemble supports those who are interested in exploring South Asian music traditions under the direction of leading tabla player and composer, Sarvar Sabri, along with guest coaches.

Whether you play a traditional South Asian instrument, or want to explore the repertoire on your western classical instrument, the ensemble welcomes musicians with a range of abilities and experience..

Where: University Music, University of Birmingham
When: Every Wednesday during term time at 3pm
Who: All University Music ensembles are open to students, staff, and local community.
Participants must be members of University Music. When joining an ensemble, participants will be required to formally complete an application to University Music.
