IMPORTANT REGULATIONS
 
It important that you read the notes below to be aware of our company policy, procedures and guidelines for the class you attend.
 
1 - Term
Normally a term consists of 10 weekly classes
 

2 - Enrolment & Renewals
It is company policy that students are enrolled on a termly basis.
 
Existing students will be given a priority booking period.  After the deadline enrolment will be open to the general public.
 
Students renewals will happen towards the end of each term, which will be emailed directly to the student.  Please ensure we have an up to date email address on your records. 
 
It is the student’s responsibility to inform SSCo of any changes to contact information.
 
It is also the student’s responsibility to make sure they have a renewal pack.  
 
It is the student’s responsibility to make sure renewal forms are sent back by the stated date. Failure to do so could result in your place no longer being available.
 
 
3 - Taster Sessions
The company does not offer taster sessions.
 
 
4 - Payments
All Payments are to be made via Bank transfer and should be received before the beginning of each term.
The payment details (how to pay) will be sent to you once you register for the classes.
 
The student may not be allowed to attend the class if the term fee or the taster session fee is not received prior to attending the class
 
5 - Refunds
No money will be refunded for non-attendance.

Full refund may be requested at least a week before the beginning of term.
 
If a student pays full term fee and would like to drop out after one class then money will be refunded after deducting £20. (£10 for class and £10 for admin charges).
 
After 1 week of the beginning of the term, no money is refundable.
 
6 - Cancellations / Rescheduling
Lead tutors Sonia Sabri and Sarvar Sabri are professional touring artists of Sonia Sabri Company therefore due to our busy tour schedule we reserve the right to alter class dates or arrange cover with an alternative professional tutor.
 
Any cancelled dates will be rescheduled; no money will be refunded.
If you are unable to attend the rescheduled session, no money will be refunded but instead a mutually convenient date can be arranged to cover the missed session.
 
We will only offer alternative dates for classes that Sonia Sabri Company have rescheduled and not for classes individually missed by the student. 
  
7 - Copyrights, Examinations, Competitions, Performances
Students are not permitted to teach class or performance content outside of Sonia Sabri Company without prior permission from Sonia Sabri Company.
 
Students are not permitted to recreate any material of the class or performance content outside of Sonia Sabri Company, including public performances and social media.
 
The content of any of the choreography or composition taught is intellectual property of Sonia Sabri Company.  Any performance of this without first seeking permission from Sonia Sabri Company is a breech of our agreement. Any student found to have breached this agreement could be found liable and may result in legal action. 
 
To protect a student’s interest, the tutor will not enter the student for any examination, competition or public performance without your consent.
 
To protect the tutor’s reputation, the student should not enter an examination, competition or perform in public, without Sonia Sabri Company’s consent. 
 
8 - Attire, Class notes, Practise
With younger students, it would be particularly helpful if parents could encourage their children to practice regularly, and to ensure that they come to each class with the appropriate attire.
 
Tabla students should wear loose clothings and must bring their instrument to the class.
 
Female dance students must wear long Kurta with Pjama / leggings and dupatta.
Male dance students must wear long Kurta with Pjama.
 
All students must bring notebooks and pen to the class
 
Whilst the tutor will make every reasonable effort to improve the students’ knowledge and ability, the student cannot expect to improve unless he/she fully co-operates with the tutor, in particular practices as they advise.

9 - Parents staying during class
As a general rule we do not encourage parents to stay during class, due to altering the dynamics of the class for other students. However for younger children, it is the parents responsibility to ensure the child is emotionally invested in the class.  We do not permit parents to leave distressed children as this is a safeguarding concern, and is not the responsibility of the teacher to calm the individual child.  

It is important to note that the teacher is responsible for the whole class as an entirety and cannot give individual attention to a distressed child. Please ensure your child is calm and not distressed before you leave, if you are unable to ease their concerns then we would expect you to leave out of courtesy for the rest of the students.
 
10 - Recommendations, Support
From time to time music / practice CD’s/ DVD’s or digital files will be recommended for practice and preparation for an exam or performance. There will be a purchase fee for this. It is expected that students will honour this. Sharing or duplicating of any material is not permitted.
 
The students are asked to join Sonia Sabri Company Facebook page to keep updated on regular events and important information: www.facebook.com/soniasabricompany.
 
We would appreciate student’s support in promoting and marketing company events including classes, performances, projects and other events by becoming ambassadors for Sonia Sabri Company.
 
We will hand out flyers or e-flyers to students and would like your assistance in distributing these across your networks.
 
We would like to increase social media activity about company events and encourage all students to get involved in this, ensuring you tag the company in any promotional posts. 
 
We have also developed a new strategy to our Facebook posting by ‘spotlighting’ a student to celebrate their achievements, please engage with these posts and support your peers. 
 
Please be aware that your support will help flourish the companies audience for all events, without this support company events could be jeopardised and may even result in cancellation.

11 - Safety Measures
Sonia Sabri Company care about the safety of our class participants and staff. We are putting a number of additional measures in place to ensure everyone's safety and wellbeing in relation to reducing the risk of coronavirus:

  • We are limiting each live in-person class to 15 people to enable social distancing
  • We ask everyone attending classes to wear masks when arriving at the class and moving around the building, although masks are optional when participating in the class itself
  • The team will be doing regular lateral flow tests
  • We encourage attendees of the classes to take a lateral flow test within 24 hours of attending a class and ask anyone who is feeling unwell not to attend
  • There will be hand sanitising stations and we will check temperatures on arrival
  • We will be following our own thorough cleaning regime in addition to the thorough cleaning that the studio will also be doing
  • Dance studios will be well ventilated
  • All classes will also be run online. Anyone who is unable to attend an in-person class due to isolating, or any other reason, can switch to an online class for that week if they wish
  • If you book for online classes and then decide you would like to attend a live in-person class please contact us first as we may not be able to accommodate you due to limited numbers. Places for live in person classes will be booked on a first come first served basis. If you decide you want to switch from live to online classes longer term please let us know so we can allocate the in-person class space to somebody else
